It's all happening..

There's so much going on I thought we'd better have a bit of an update..

We've also been catching up with friends, went on a road trip to Canberra and the southern coast of NSW, saw some deaf people dancing, hip hop and rocked at Xavier Rudd performing. And now we're off to NZ this weekend..!

Firstly we're moving - this is the only pic we have so far - but sheesh it's a lovely townhouse in Middle Park, Melbourne. It's 1 block from the beach and 4 blocks from our favourite Indian resto, my healing centre and yoga classes! It's all happened very fast and I need to go and pack!

I have a viral infection of my balance organ - having vertigo, nausea and shaky eyes - really horrible. At one point I thought I'd fall out of bed it was so bad! I got admitted to hospital for a while - I must say I didn't enjoy it and eventually signed myself out. It's been a good learning experience for me - especially having to learn to relax while being awake. This is a skill I have never had - and seeing as though I feel worse lying down I am having to learn quick.

Post exams, with all the "extra time" Timmy and I made a pretty little "garden" on our balcony. Our new place has two balconies so even more gardening ahead! It'll be so lovely to sit outside and not have the stench of the drains and the roar or trucks passing by as we currently have! BTW for those interested - I only passed one exam - I still have my Anatomy exam to go. I was really proud I attempted the exams - despite the deaths of my step gran and cousin 3 weeks before. I have never failed anything before - it was surprisingly painless.. here's to passing next April Fool's Day!

Tim couldn't handle our "normal" car - so he's sold our Audi, Fritz and is getting a "proper" vehicle. It's a 1999 Turbodiesel Nissan Patrol. For those of you who don't think it is environmentally correct - we'll still be riding our bikes most of the time! This car is for adventure, pleasure and moving friends' furniture!

Tim is currently unemployed. He was really bored in his last job and quit 2 months ago. He has been loving unemployment and has taken over the household duties. This has been awesome for me as I have had a stressful year and it is wonderful to be taken care of. I just finished a rotation in ICU and now am working in Psychiatry - pretty lovely to have so much variety - but a bit stressful always being the "new" doc!

He's looking at a business opportunity which he can travel to Queensland, South Africa and Canada with.. Nerds on site! Mobile IT support which he'll offer to small businesses and private homes - lots of variety and working for himself. We'll need to buy a sexy new red beetle! Watch this space.

He has Johnny Cash playing on his iPod to keep him company as he cleans the house. I bet that puts a smile on Johnny's face!

PS. for all those complaining of too many naked pictures of Tim on my blog, I hope you sincerely appreciate the jeans in these pictures..!

My Two Grans

I could not have been blessed with more gorgeous grannies - My Great Granny Esme and my step granny Marj who have both died, and my "direct" grannies who are very much alive and kicking!

Granny Enid

My dad's mum. What can I say - she's 84yo and has just driven herself 3 hours from Bicheno to Hobart to attend a Shakespeare course at the University of the 3rd Age! She had a stroke and got Graves disease when she was 68yo and then decided to take up painting - she's now a really successful, gorgeous miniatures painter.. Last year when she was outside looking at the comet, she broke her pelvis in a few pieces, had a blood transfusion reaction and was still out of hospital way before any of the doctors would have predicted. She's a total inspiration. She still does the odd bit of work at the local school and the kids love her. She's amazingly accepting and non judgemental. She has a gorgeous, open heart. The last pic is a pic of her with Jack, her lovely "toyboy" who she's been married to for many years - but whom she chooses not to live with! Isn't she cool wearing her Uggs!

Granny Denny

She's my mummy's mum and she's a second mom to me. Gran lived with us when we were growing up and it was a huge gift. She is a huge gift to me - a precious, generous lady who loves surfers, soccer players, tequila and chocolate cake! Cake, scones and waffles are options any time of the day - if you are ever feeling mis, gran is always available to cheer you up with a positive word and a biscuit. She is a demon jam maker and always looks for the silver lining in every situation. She won't say a bad word about anyone. She's as happy eating in a greasy spoon as she would be at a fancy restaurant - she just loves to be out and about. Life is still such an adventure to her. She just retired from work in February, 3 months before her 75th birthday. They'll all miss "gogo". Even though she has pretty bad arthritis in her thumbs she still manages to have the most gorgeous garden (the only time I have ever seen her being mean to is the snails in the garden - sheesh!). And if I was ever on who wants to be a millionaire - she's be my telephone buddy - never play against her in Trivial Pursuit! As much as she loves men in shorts or egg and bacon toasted sandwiches - there is nothing that makes her happier than seeing us happy.

Thank you for the love and joy you guys have brought me. Thank you for being such inspirations and such power women - whenever I am stuck I remember your blood flowing through my veins and feel stronger. Thank you
